SENIOR COMMODITY TRADER (WHEAT)

My client, an international agricultural commodity trading organisation is currently recruiting for a Senior Trader (Wheat) to join their team.

Working individually and as part of a team focused on the physical wheat procurement, hedging and marketin.  In addition the team ensures production assets are supported and maintained with a consistent, quality, and costeffective source of raw materials; and facilitation of 3rd party physical trading for agricultural products in the regions.

Duties

• Trading 

• • Contribute to the company net profit budget on wheat trading as agreed each year
  • Contribute to the wheat Volume budget each year
  • Contribute to the company prop target as per budget each year
  • Build local wheat trading with strategic partnerships
  • Looking for trade oppurtunities on the South African Futures Exchange (SAFEX) within limits to generate profit
  •  Ensures hedging of commodity forex exposures
  • Creating a weekly report for clients showing market information/commentary

• Research and clients
  • Analyse and interpret South African supply and demand for wheat
  • Managing relationships of key suppliers & customers
  • Determine the Supply & Demand of key customers
  • Daily and weekly communication with suppliers & customers
  • Offering Market Risk Solutions to key customers 
  • Managing customer risk exposures within limits as defined under authority
  • Maintain & source new supply and offtake agreements
  • Admin
  • Report trades within company requirements
  • Ensure contracts are executed from A to Z
  • Providing information about deals for pnl and cashflow management 
  • Creating and updating vessel pnl sheets
• Business Development 

• • Identify risks in the operations process and recommend plans for improvement
