PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:To assist with administrative support for Masters and PhD student applications, admissions, registration and help desk tasks on Mahikeng Campus.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Applications, admissions, registration
To complete all tasks related to the application, admission and registration of M and PhD students on the Mahikeng campus that report in person or via electronic media.
2. Record management
To complete all tasks related to the correct filing of documents as per the NWU file plan
3. POPPIA Act and OHS Act
Required to comply with the POPPIA and OHS regulations as per directed by NWU and attend training sessions where needed.
Desired Experience & Qualification
1 year proven experience in Computer literacy and telephone etiquette
1 year proven experience and knowledge of NWU systems
2-year experience and knowledge of general office and administrative tasks.
B degree/Honours degree will serve as a recommendation.
1 year proven experience and knowledge of Masters and PhD degrees students administration processes will be serve as a recommendation.
FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS):
Ability to plan, organise and prioritize daily tasks.
VSS, GroupWise, and Microsoft office software.
Ability to work on a system and follow a prescribed procedure.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a professional manner with all levels of NWU staff and with students.
Appropriate knowledge of general office and administrative tasks
Ability to work at a good pace.
Ability to deal with clients, and to stay calm and professional.
Ability to manage time effectively.
Ability to take the lead to complete tasks when required.
Ability to function in a team.
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
