Grading Foreman – Government Job Vacancies in Wadeville

Purpose:

On a shift basis, takes charge of the Raw Materials, Grading section; manage, control and supervise machine operators, to ensure subordinates adhere to standard practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan the daily execution of raw materials, grading, for the allocated team on shift, in order to meet the set raw materials grading goals and targets.
  • Ensure that customers are being supplied with the correct scrap and that production targets are met.
  • Checks and reports on incoming scrap loads, turnaround times and action plans.
  • Motivate colleagues and team members to improve work place production, safety awareness and job proudness.
  • Identify abnormal conditions and rectify problems.
  • Clean and organize the equipment/work place on an ongoing basis

Qualification/Education Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Maths and Science

Experience & Skill Requirements:

  • Previous experienced in a steel plant environment is essential.
  • Min 2 years experience in a supervisory role
  • Good command of the English language (verbal & written).
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be reliable, self-motivated and be able to work under pressure.
  • Must be prepared to work shifts and overtime.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Strong SAP and Excel skills. 
  • Scrap Grading experience.
  • Planning and organizing skills.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in a scrap environment is essential.
  • Good command of the English language (verbal & written).
