Position: GM: Actuary (Health/ Managed Care)

Location: Cape Town (Preferred)/ JHB

Ref: MVG/HAct

Listed Pharma/ Managed Care organisation seeks a senior Actuary for their Actuarial Division. The role operates at Group Level and would require working experience operating at a senior strategic level. The role reports into Executive Level.

Key Requirements/ Role Responsibilities:

• Implementation of group strategy and provision of analytical support through consulting and advice at a strategic level to internal and external stakeholders
• Implementation of structures and frameworks for risk controls and governance (Statutory and Regulatory Compliance)
• Full Management of Actuarial Division  
• Ensure timeous delivery of valuation and risk reports
• Ensure group scheme risk management through authorised pricing
• Accountable for overall functional budget and financial management  
• Stakeholder Management at Executive Level  
• Development of Functional Strategic Plan
• Market Analysis, knowledge of current macro and micro-economic conditions, legislation, competition, market sentiment, etc  

Desired Qualifications/ Experience:

• Qualified Actuary (FASSA/ AMASSA/ CERA)
• At least 10 years Senior Management experience within Financial Services, Medical Schemes, Managed Care, Fund Management
• Experience working with board and accountable to Exco
• Divisional Leadership experience within a large matrixed environment
