We are looking for proactive, results-orientated, natural leader to join our team as field managers.

Our field managers are responsible for recruiting, leading, motivating and developing the sales team within his/her geographical area.

Duties & Responsibilities



  1. Team management
    1. Manage and motivate a team of Brand Sales Specialists (BSS) to report to work daily using AM system to log-in on time as per requirement
    2. Conduct team meetings on weekly basis, draft agenda based on the gaps using Power Bi and additional report to set objectives for the week
    3. Follow up on previous weeks objectives to ensure that thy are achieved

               IR Function

    1. Load BSS leave on Sage
    2. Manage BSS performance and initiate counselling and performance management
    3. Initiate disciplinary action where necessary
  1. Database management
    1. Ensure BSS Call and service a total number of outlets as per MSOP (database) taverns and counter service in the designated area on fortnightly basis
    2. Build BSS optimized call cycle
  2. Call Visits and coaching
    1. Spend time in trade with BSS coaching and assessing gap in achieving daily objectives as per job requirements
  3. SDS
    1. Ensure BSS have an allocated RTMP to pull stock from
    2. Ensure BSS have the necessary SDS compliance documents
    3. Drive sales area to achieve volume target
    4. Ensure RTMP accounts are cleared once per cycle
  4. Availability
    1. Understand area volume flow
    2. Drive availability gaps within sales area
    3. Escalate NND gaps at RTMP or BB with RTMP Specialists
  5. Pricing
    1. Support and engage customers that are objecting to BSS price discussion
    2. Drive pricing gaps within sales area
    3. Escalate RTMP out of spec with RTMP Specialist and and survey RTMP once per cycle
  6. Promotional implantation
    1. Implement promotion as per the communicated plan within the required timelines by communicating plans and allocating promotional items to BSS as per target
    2. Ensure that the team meet the required target as per the allocated timeframes
  7. Merchandising
    1. Ensure team has sufficient trade tools to implement POS elements
    2. Collect POS elements from warehouse and allocate to team
    3. Identify gaps within the teams and drive to close the gaps as per targets
  8. Asset tracking and utilization efficiency
    1. Ensure that coolers are tracked and verified on every visit or call as per call cycle
    2. Follow up on reported, damaged or malfunction coolers to back office using the procedure communicated
    3. Assess utilisation of coolers and initiate cooler movements to ensure efficiency
      1. Move coolers from over-cooled outlets to needy outlets all the time
    4. Confirm and verify store status and verify coolers
    5. Investigate and follow-up on Sales Area missing or stolen coolers
  9. Freshness check and management
    1. Check the freshness of Heineken brands in all the allocated RTMP/BB escalate where necessary
  10. Operational Tools
    1. Clean and wash the allocated car on daily basis inside and outside, also ensure that team clean their cars on daily basis
    2. Conduct own car inspections and for team on weekly basis and report damages as per the communicated process
    3. Ensure all BSS within team have a working vehicle and report any form of vehicle break-downs
    4. Escalate incidents to fleet controllers immediately
    5. Ensure BSS has a working phone with data and minutes and request top-up when necessary


12.Competitor Activity

  1. Collate and consolidate competitor activity weekly and share with ASM
  2. Report abuse and non competitive behaviour of opposition in writing or photos as evidence on every call
  3. Understand competitor resource with the allocated area

Desired Experience & Qualification

The ideal candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. Have at least 1-2 years FMCG sales experience (liquor industry sales preferred).
  2. Have previous sales management experience or have been in an acting position.
  3. Be willing to relocate or be based in Bloemfontein indefinitely.
  4. Matric

Package & Remuneration

R 12 000.00 – R 15 500.00
