Introduction

Responsible for the efficient setup & operation of one or more assigned multi-axis CNC Machine tools to produce component parts in accordance to engineering drawings, internal sketches or other specifications provided by the engineer.  

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for machining appropriate jobs in the order needed to meet production schedules;
  • Responsible for meeting standard production timeframes;
  • Setup, and operate variety of CNC equipment to produce high-precision components;
  • Perform some follow-up operations such as deburring, polishing and grinding;
  • Performs and documents in-process QA inspections;
  • Must consistently maintain a clean and organised work area;
  • Other duties assigned;
  • Must be able to understand basic arithmetic, geometric and algebraic calculations;
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow complicated verbal and written instructions;
  • Must be able to understand basic CNC machine tool program language;

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Read and understand technical drawings
  • Working knowledge of all basic machine shop tools and equipment
  • Standing and walking required for 90% of work time. 
  • High quality of work is carried out and ability to meet deadlines, concentrate and pay close attention to detail
  • N1 Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 – 5 yearsÂ’ experience on set-up and operation of various CNC machine tools and controls
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Matric
