Job Summary
The Bookkeeper is responsible for processing and keeping track of financial transactions of the businesses and also in charge of safekeeping financial records for future references.
Reports to: Financial Manager
Duties & Responsibilities
- Capture Creditor transactions and Reconcile Creditor statements for group companies
- Allocate Payments to creditors, allocate credit notes to invoices and allocate discounts where applicable
- Compile and balance inter-company loan accounts
- Complete general ledger reconciliations
- Process retainer billing sales invoices
- Review and maintain debtors accounts
- Distribution of Debtor Statements
- Collection of outstanding debt
- Compile Bank reconciliations
- Assist with improving and drafting of financial processes and procedures
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analysing and summarizing account information and trends
Desired Experience & Qualification
Â
- General Accounting qualification i.e. Degree or Diploma
- 5+ years of experience within a similar role
​​​​​​​Skills
- Highly numerate and able to analyse statistical information and interpret financial dataÂ
- Computer literate; fully conversant with the current uses of information technology in the workplace and uses IT as a management tool
- Proficient user of accounting software preferably in Xero
- Highly motivated
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy essential
- Positive work ethics
- Deadline driven
- Able to work overtime if necessary
- Able to follow systems and procedures
- Sound knowledge of VAT requirements
- Good understanding of the full accounting cycle
- Work well in a team as well as independently
Remuneration
R18k-R30k depending on experineceÂ
